About JEE
Admissions to IITs, NITs, IIITs & many other prestigious colleges are done on the basis of performance in the Joint Entrance Exam (JEE)
It has two different examinations
JEE Main
JEE Advanced
JEE Main & JEE Advanced are objective exams based on Std 11th & 12th PCM syllabus and are conducted online. JEE Advanced is regarded internationally as one of the most challenging undergraduate admission tests.
XII Board marks do not influence the admissions in most colleges, but are only used as an eligibility criterion e.g. In case of IITs NITs, and IIITs, the students are expected to score 75% aggregate or be in the top 20 percentile of their respective board.
The State Entrance Exam MHT-CET for Maharashtra may continue in 2022, but the decision regarding the same is not yet declared by the State Government. Syllabus of MHT-CET is similar to JEE Main.
Apart from JEE Main & JEE Advanced, another popular exam is BITSAT, through which admission to BITS Pilani, Goa, Hyderabad and Dubai is decided. BITSAT is also quite similar to JEE Main in pattern, syllabus and difficulty level.
